Wow, Has It Been That Long??!!

Okay,

I thought about how I should start off this post.
Something with me saying how sorry I am that's it's been so long since I last posted.....
but let's get real,
did it really change anyone's life?

I mean really, did you even miss me? lol

I am fully aware that
what I have to say here on this blog isn't really earth shattering or life changing!
Or even that interesting if the truth is told!

So I won't apologize or say something sappy like "Sorry to have let you down" or "I'll do better" because reality is, I probably won't.

So with that out of the way, I want to share whats new around here!

Did you notice the name change??

I have started what I like to call my little "side hustle".

 A small business I call

"Monday Misc"

You see, Monday's are my day off from my real job and
the day I like to spend making creative stuff.
I'm not sure exactly how it all started but it sure is fun.
So my blog is now going to be about all of that. I will still be sharing scrapbooking and camping but I'm going to make the focus of this blog about my business.

In this small side hustle I make several things...

leather Travelers notebooks

Inserts  and fun accessories for them

I also make hand stamped Spoon necklaces, spoon bookmarks and lots of other fun "stuff"

As you can see my favorite thing to make, by far, are my Travelers Notebooks!!

I jokingly call them "Honeydoris".

My love for them all started when I received a Midori travelers notebook for Christmas a year ago
and I just fell in love.
I decided that I wanted to improve the design for myself and started making my own modified version that worked better for me.

I am now selling them in my
ESTY shop

I make them in several different colors and sizes.

I also make fabric ones too!

The other side to this tiny business is that
I have decided to try my hand at being a vendor at a few festivals this year.

I am starting this new adventure at

Garden Faire in Abingdon VA
April 22-24, 2016

It is right around the corner. I'm not going to lie,
and  I am so nervous.
I have been prepping for months now

I know it will be fun and I absolutely love talking to and meeting new people.
That's not what I'm nervous about, that's the easy part!

I'm nervous about two things really...

1. that no one will understand or "get" the whole Travelers Notebook thing
 and won't buy any.

Or, and this is really what scares me,

 2.  that they will be so popular and we won't have enough "stuff".

Either way, I'm working hard and doing my best and I am
gonna leave the rest up to the Lord and enjoy spending time with the people!

My oldest daughter has decided to join me in the
"making of the stuff".
She has been sewing her fingers to the bone to get ready!

She has been making Garden bags, tea towels and Garden shirts. They are all so darling. She also has an ETSY shop here at the
 Redman Roost

She is going to be there all weekend to help me sell too.
 I can not wait!!

So that's it for now, you are all caught up!

Thanks for stopping by and spending a little time letting me share my life with you!

Fall Camping in Roan Mountain

This past weekend was not officially Fall but it sure felt like it up in the mountains of East Tennessee.

I would say this camping trip to Roan Mountain one of our best!

Our camper sat on the hill directly over this beautiful mountain stream.

The mountain air was crisp and clear.
It was warm during the day and chilly at night which made the campfire dreamy.
A good book makes a restful camping trip even better!

We hiked only once.
The rain moved in and we had to cut it short but the beauty of the mountains is
 worth walking in the rain.

My all time favorite hike is the Cloudland Trail at the very tip top of Roan Mountain.
I hesitate to call it a "Hike" because it is only .02 miles.
Yes, it is ridiculously short but in the words of my husband
 "it smells like Christmas".

You walk under the pine trees to get to an over look that has to be
one of the most beautiful places on this planet!
I couldn't get a picture of that wonderful view because we were right in the middle of a cloud.
When I go back, I will for sure get that picture to share with you.

Roan Mountain Campground Review is in the works.
Stay tuned!

90 Years Should Be Celebrated!

My sweet Mother-in-law just turned 90 years old.

This sweet lady has been such an inspiration to me!
She is one of the hardest working women I know.
She retired from her factory job when she was 81 years old.
This factory had no air conditioning and she worked from 6:30 in the morning until 3:00 in the afternoon, everyday no matter how hot.
I never heard her complain about having to go to work,
Not once!

One of my favorite things about this lady is that
She always had food ready for any occasion.
It was like she could pull a hot meal out of the air!
Something I am still working to master.

I love asking her questions about her childhood.
Her memory of those years long ago is vivid.
She once told me of the day a man came to their home to hook up their electricity! She was 12!!
I can't even imagine life with Electricity.
I can't even go camping without it,
and she and her family lived life without it!

So many wonderful things I could say about her, but one thing is for sure...
she is perfect example of the Proverbs 31 woman!

Her children arise and call her blessed!!
Happy Birthday Granny!

My December Daily for 2014

Last year I made my very first December Daily...
in December.
 That was a huge mistake!!!
Not the December Daily but the timing.

I honestly thought it would be easy and fun!
It is fun but with out some planning, it is not easy!

You can learn more about the original  concept for December Daily
  HERE
Ali Edwards is a genius for coming up with it and I was so excited to give it a try.

What I learned is this...December Daily's  must be organized in advance!
That is the secret to really enjoying the process.

So, this year I started putting my December Daily together in August!

I am pretty excited about how it turned out!

I can't wait to start adding photos!

Since I used the Project life style pages,
I will be able to rearrange and add photos without any problem!

I used the Heidi Swapp's Believe paper pad.
This is by far my very favorite Christmas paper!

I am now ready for the month of December!
All I will need to do this year is print photos and add them in!
