Scrapbooking My Faith, A Challenge To Myself

Something you should know about me, if you don't already...

I am a follower of Jesus Christ.
I've been a Christian since the age of 10.
Basically,
He is what my whole life is centered around or at least He is what it should be centered around.
I am not perfect at putting Him first, but that is the goal.

What I didn't realize, until now,
is how little of my faith ends up on my actual scrapbook pages.
That really surprised me.
Oh sure, I've done a few pages about church events, church plays and parties at church but
I have never really scrapbooked about my actual faith and
I very rarely incorporated scriptures onto my pages.

That is about to change.
I have recently been inspired by a mini album,
created by my good friend Elizabeth.

She just finished the most beautiful December Daily album.
Definitely one of my favorites to date and
on almost every page she incorporated scripture for that day.

What a sweet gift to her future grandchildren.
Don't you just love seeing your grandmother's hand written recipes?
Imagine how wonderful it would have been if she left you hand written
scriptures and stories of her walk with the Lord.

Isn't that what Scripture tells us to do in Deuteronomy 6:7-9.
It talks about teaching your children as you go about your day
and writing down the things God has done for you.
He never want us to forget His faithfulness.
Remembering His goodness grows our faith and helps us trust Him all the more.

Here are a few pictures of her album so you can see for yourself how
wonderfully she incorporated scripture into her scrapbook.
She put scripture right on the front cover and in her own hand writing.
(I could not get my camera to focus like I wanted to, but you get the idea)

On this page she listed their Christmas traditions.
 I just love that too.
I bet 20 years from now, her children will be so blessed to look back
and be reminded of such sweet memories. I know I would love it!

So here is the challenge to myself, and to you....

Begin incorporating Scriptures, family traditions and our daily
walk with the Lord into our scrapbooks!

Another bonus to this challenge...
by incorporating scripture onto our pages,
we will be searching through God's word more and more.
Which is always a good thing.

The reality is that all good things come from God above and
I want to be sure I give Him all the Glory!

Mini Albums and My Issues

Hello, My name is Jennifer and I am a Mini Album addict.

I just can't stop! Since learning the Back to Back Binding by Heidi Swapp and buying my Bind it All machine I have been out of control.
I did a count of all the Mini's I have made in the past year and the total is up to 14 finished mini albums! I would say that is a real addiction.

Last night I added to my addiction by trying a new kind of mini, Large Tag Mini Alums!

I made two in one night!

There are so many other things I should be doing....
I made this Tag Book of my grandbabies at Christmas.
I just love how it turned out.

I've decided I'm  going to take it to Scrappin' in the City later this week for them to use as an example in the store. I used all of the paper and embellishments from their new Christmas collection.

I love this two sided paper. It is from "We Are Memory Keepers" It is very heavy weight and
I love that I didn't have to double it for each tag.

I made the simple tabs from just a circle and tab punch and used stickers to embellish.
I did double them and attached them under the photos.

I am now working on another Large Tag Mini for a gift.
For this one, I did have to glue two sheets of paper together because
the paper I wanted to use was so thin.

These are just so fun and easy to make and would make a wonderful gifts.

As for my issues...
I think my big problem is videos!
When I get on Youtube or My Craft Channel, that is when I get in trouble.
I was scrolling through some old Teresa Collins videos on My Craft Channel  yesterday and
found this video on
Large Tag Mini albums.
I just had to give it a try!
I love them.

Design Team Update

Oh my goodness, I am so excited.
I finally signed my contract with "Scrappin in the City"
So...
It is official, I am a now a real Design Team member for the coolest
scrapbooking store east of the Mississippi!!

The store is actually about a two hour drive from my house, so I have to carefully plan out my trips to get my supplies and drop off my pages and books.
It's a little more difficult but for me it is worth it to be able to design for the best.

Of course, while I was there, the first thing I did was go shopping!!

I found these papers and embellishments by Bella Blvd.
So cute!

So here we go....

On my first layout I mostly used Bella Blvd paper and embellishments.
I also used some Heidi Swapp "Sugar Chic" for the background, shipping tags and paper dollies.
I have been playing around more with stencils and layering with different textures, so the background is stenciled with white polka-dots.

For the second layout, I also used Bella Blvd papers and embellishments.

For the center cluster, I fussy cut out some of the printed dollies and made my own little owl.
I inked a wood veneer camera pink by Studio Calico and coated it with Glassy Accents.

I can't wait to get started with those Christmas papers!!
Stay tuned....

Mini Album Gift

A good friend of mine recently told me that

"hand made gifts come with the most love".

Isn't that the sweetest statement!
Well, I believe it!

For me, that would mean giving scrapbooks.
It almost feels selfish because I love making them so much.

I recently started working on one for a friend who
just adopted a sweet little girl from China.

She doesn't scrapbook so I decided to make her an album
to give her a good place to document her memories.

Here are a few pictures of it before adding the photos.

The photos aren't great, I used my iphone.

Since she doesn't scrapbook, I have asked her to upload her favorite photos from their trip and send them to Walgreens.
I will pay for them, pick them up and add them to her album.
I plan to leave her plenty of room to be able to journal all about bringing home that sweet baby girl.

I cannot wait to start filling this album up with photos!!

I pray she will feel the love in each page.
