Why Didn't I Think of This...

I am always looking for ways to get more photos on my scrapbook pages.
I am not a "one photo per page" kind of scrapper.

Heidi Swapp just put a new video on My Craft Channel
that addresses this problem with a creative and inexpensive technique.

Why didn't I think of this! It's so simple!

I can't wait to try these new techniques!!

Heidi Swapp, My New Obsession

I know, I have mentioned her here before, but she is just so darn talented!

I have been watching her videos on
 My Craft Channel.
I think I have literally watched them all.

I love her style and I really love her view on scrapbooking.
She is not like most scrapbookers who are all about design and not about the story.
She talks a lot about telling a story while you scrapbook. She is big on using your own handwriting and capturing that moment in time so that you and your family can enjoy those memories later.

I also believe the whole point of scrapbooking is recording memories and all the blessings that God has given us through out our lives so we can look back with gratitude and give praise to the giver of all good things.
Now, with that said, I also want my scrapbooks to be as pretty as they can possibly be.
Just like in my everyday Life, I want to be surrounded by "Pretty stuff" .
It just makes me feel good.

Look at how gorgeous her work is...

One of her main goals is to be able to get as many photos in a mini albums as possible. In the photo below, the pages flip up and they have photos on all of them. She does a lot of of that in her scrapbook projects.

Her new Memory Files are my new favorite idea.
You can get so many photos from one event and actually finish a project.

I also have started making some mini albums from her technique she calls back to back.
Here is a video where she explains how to make them,
My Craft Channel Video

Here are some photos of my first mini albums attempts using the techniques in the video. Since it was my first try, I decided to use papers that were not my favorite so I wouldn't be out anything if they were an epic fail.
Now I wish I had used prettier papers because I love them!!

Now that I have played with the techniques a little,
I can't wait to make more!

Smashbook Pages

Okay, here are a few pages from my Smashbook like I promised. I really love this book.
No pressure to have everything in order or perfect.
I can work on pictures that may not be scrapbook worthy but that I love.

I know a lot of you work in chronological order and I understand that
but this book allows freedom from all that pressure.
There is no order in a smashbook!
That's the whole point!

You can read more about Smashbooks in a previous post
Here  and watch a great video.

Go get one and get to Smashing!!
 You will love it!!
