Our Easter Tradition

We spend every Easter at my mother's house.
I love this tradition!
When our kids were little, we always had an Easter egg hunt and
they all loved it.
When they became teenagers,
they were less than enthusiastic about the tradition.

We solved this problem with one word....

We now stuff eggs with money!
Here they all were last year.

It is amazing how excited teenagers will become over a simple
Easter egg hunt when Cash is involved!

I can't wait until tomorrow.

Just Couldn't Give Him Up

Okay, while everyone else is posting beautiful photos of their spring mantels,
I am still hanging on to a little friend from fall.

I put these guys up for Halloween and they made me smile every time walked up the stairs.
They were just so cute!
It was a simple Martha Stewart kit from Michaels.

After Halloween I fully intended to take them all down, but
just couldn't. I ended up leaving them until after Thanksgiving.
My kids thought I lost my mind.

Then, while taking them down, I still just could not bare to part with this little guy.
So I let him stay through the winter.

Now I am seriously considering making him a permanent resident.

What do you think?

Caught In The Rain

It was suppose to be beautiful weather this past week-end....

It ended up rainy and cold the whole week-end.
No worries, just getting away and spending time together was still wonderful.

It did not hurt that we had Wifi!

Biscuits on a Stick

My friend Diana gave me this idea to try...

Biscuits on a Stick!

Take a package of refrigerator biscuits...

Find and wash a stick that is at least 1/2 inch thick.

Then wrap each biscuit around the stick

Then just roast over an open fire. That's it!

Okay, so it's not quite that easy.
The first ones we tried were pretty rough! Haha, but we did eventually get the hang of it.
Finding just the right distance over the fire for roasting took some practice and patience.
When we finally figured it out, they were worth the wait.
They are also perfect for stuffing with scramble eggs or link sausage.

You should give it a try on your next camping adventure!
